Furry dogs

Mistress is getting in my face.

It is quite beyond me why mistress seems to think it is a good idea to take pictures of me when I am sleeping.

If I am asleep that means I do not wish to be disturbed.

It is hard work being a furry dog in summer, as many of you pups know.

I do not want a camera in my face, flashing nastily, or mistress prowling around the place looking for a good angle.

And another thing. It is my right to scratch and remove my own fur for it to flutter round the flat.

It is then mistress's job to clean it up. I do not wish her to pre-empt my fur removal with the Nasty Brush.

Here is some of my fur. This is from our sitting room. I normally manage to scratch at least three loads a day similar to this.

What is that sock doing there? Oh, mistress found it under the chair when she moved it to retrieve more of my nice soft fur.

Just as well she has to sweep up my fur or she probably wouldn't have found the sock for months.

I leave a similar amount of fur in our bedroom too. I say ours, because they sleep in it at night. During the day, mistress moves the thermarests and I flop on the floor in there. Mistress leaves the curtains closed for me so it is nice and cool and I claim it as my daytime bedroom.

Some time ago I added some info to my sidebar about husky/GSD crosses.

But I forgot to mention it. So if you are interested in huskies (of all types), or GSDs, or just big furry doggies, there are some really interesting photos on there.

ETA:
Here is the link as well. I have just made mistress have a looky and there are even more nice pix added since the last time, and yet another one who looks just like me. I am so excited to think that there are other dogs out there like me. It is good not to be alone. Oh and if any pup does look at the site, silly mistress added my photo twice. hahahaha.

I feel your pain Pippa! Why the sleeping photographs? I mean would they like it if we crept up on them and took pics while they were lying slack jawed and snoring in their beds?

Perhaps we should start a (another) blog between us, instead of a dog blog, a Human Blog, capturing them in all sorts of poses. Food for thought methinks!

I am shedding bucket loads of fur too! And still scratching......

Your friend,

Mom says I'm blowing coat like there's no tomorrow. Hrmph! That's silly; I plan to blow coat again tomorrow, so of COURSE there's one!
Uh-oh. I see her coming with the evil brush...

Pretty impressive pile of fur, there, pal.

We don't actually shed -- but when we get furminated or plucked (which we've heard rumors will be imminent) we generate a pile big enough to clothe another dog.

Furry or not, you are one handsome dude!!

Pippa, I'm no huskie, but I sure shed like one. Mom thinks it's the Chesapeake Bay Retriever in me. Could be. I think it's just the dog. She got us a furminator. Horrors!

I think humans like sleeping dogs because they are so peaceful - Dumas observed that that is the kind of sleep only young humans know. You look so happy, and I'm glad you're leaving your fur about!

Hi Pippa
Thank you for visiting my blog. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Thank you for caring so much about my mum too. She is trying hard to get better.
I understand how hard it is to get through Summer. Where I live now with my mum in Queensland is very hoomid and the summer weather really knocks me around. When mum is back at work and she can save up the money, she is going to get an air conditioner for the house to keep us cool in summer coz it is getting hotter and hotter every year. Us English Setters shed coat all year round. Our little house is covered in dog hair and slobber (from Hobson) but mum does not mind. We are still in Winter over here.

Pippa,

What's with humans and the camera? Good job leaving a little fur around. We mark all of our territory by shedding of course.

Thank you for saying what we've been telling our girl for a long time! She constantly flashes her camera at us while we nap. Just be glad you are only attacked by the brush. Our girl likes to pull hair off of BLU with her hands!

Thank you for your concern while I was unwell. Your kind words made me get better so much quicker.

Oh, Pippa. Ari empathizes with you. And she wants me to know that under no circumstances am I to assist with her fur removal, even if tufts are hanging out and are about to float into the nether-regions of our house. These are tough days for a dog.

My mom was snapping pics of me last night when I was trying to snooze with a bone in my mouth. Why is that such a big deal? I still can't figure it out. Silly humans.....
