Some photos

Here I am looking after master's shoelace and his boot

Because misery has been so slow and useless at updating my blog I thought I would post up some piccies that I meant to post ages ago.

Here is the bird who sits on the streetlight over the road. He is a seagull, and he only has one foot.

The woman who lives in the house opposite to us (next to the one with the shutters) puts out fish for the seagulls.

Footless comes to stand on top of the lamp and squawks, demanding his food.

Then he twirls round in a circle waiting for his food to arrive.

And flies down.

Looking for his food.

And wondering where it is.

Sometimes the cats eat the fish. The woman opposite also puts out food for the feral cats. But we have seen Marmalade (real name Harvey) who is not feral, polishing off this food too. Greedy Marmalade. I am not sure if anybird or anycat gets to eat the food that is put out for them, but it is nice of her to do it.

Especially as it means there are always lots of cats in my street prowling for food.

Misery went for a walk the other day - without me - and took this interesting picture of an overgrown cemetery with two sunbathing cats. Well, I thought it was interesting because I would like to have gone with her and chased the cats off the tombstones.

She also met some birds, and being somewhat strange, chatted away to the parrot. Here is the parrot listening to misery.

And here is a caged bird, which we don't like to see, but we don't know why it was caged so maybe there was a good reason.

And mistress wants me to add thank you very much to everypup who wished them happy wedding anniversary. They had a very nice weekend doing nothing, but mistress never does anything anyway so I couldn't tell the difference.

It's good of you to make sure that master's shoelace doesn't make him trip, Pippadarling.

Footless is an interesting bird, but We would have chased him and the kitties too.

Pippa have you thought that if Marmalade/Harvey eats all the food he'll get too fat and make it easier for you to chase him.

P.S. I'd like to chase cats, if I had the chance)

I'm nice and don't chase cats, mum calls me goody 4paws

oh sea gulls are not encouraged where we live. They can be quite aggressive.

But She Who Must Be Obeyed and Who Has a Soft Heart (and in my opinion - a soft head) says she felt sorry for Footless.

She wondered whether he was Footless In Gib......some stupid reference to Sleepless in Seattle if you bark to me.

Humans eh? SWMBO also talks to all sorts of animals and humans sometimes, I look the other way tbh.

I am pleased they had a good celebration, and they were good action pics of Footless.

Timing is everything. Footless is a clever seagull. I like his style.

I wonder though how he lost his poor foot.

How nice of you Pippa, to give space on your blog for other species. I enjoyed looking around your neighbourhood. Keep a good eye on that shoe lace.

We feel sorry for Footless but he appears to be coping fine. Totally different story if he was wingless.

Love pictures of my Pippa.

Great pics of the birds. I hope you go on the walks next time so you can see the birds and the cats. And poor bird with one foot.

Dear Pippa
You might have to start to be a bit more patient with your mistress. I can tell you living with my mum aint easy BUT she loves her birds, and I am a bird dog .. I never kill birds though .. I am a gentle giant .. and I have to support mum in her love of birds. I think it is wonderful your neighbour is feeding Footless. You could not imagine how many wild birds my mum helps and she teaches us that we have to respect the birds, and we do.
I am sorry I missed your pawrent's wedding anniversary. I am certain you all enjoyed this very much.
Love from Hammer

Oh Dear Darling Pippadog...we have so much in common that its a shame we don't live on the same street...I have to post about the birdies I'm taking care of as well..We've never had birdies before cuz my big brother Dublin had a "no fly zone" in our backyard...if the birdies did fly over, he let them know they were in violation of his air code...anyway...Check my bloggy later for more info...AND...did you know that you were my 10,000 VISITOR to my bloggy? Like I said Pippa, we are meant to be...

& happy anniversary to your peoples...I'm glad they had a nice time staying home with you.

Love & Licks,
Randi

ps..don't those cats have any respect for the dead???

Oh Pippa, My mom has been so busy with the start of the new term, that she hasn't even helped me visit all my friends. Rest assured that I log on to stare at your handsome mug as often as I possibly can.

Happy Anniversary to the peeps.

Hi Pippa,

The story about Murphy the Rotti brought tears to Mums eyes, She was sad and angry all at the same time.. then happy that Murphy finally found his forever home with a family that truly cared. Mum was seething at some points in his story, these are exactly the kind of people who should never be allowed to own a dog!
On a lighter note, I love the photo's of you guarding Masters shoelace hehehe.. and if you think Misery is slow at updating your blog then you should try on my shoes.. snails are faster than my Mum!!

Missed ya handsome guy!

Please let Mistress know that we'll watch for her e-mail. Momma's advice is not always good but she always has an opinion. :-)

Lovely photos. But you need to be very careful. Birds could become the next flowers and they might try to take over your blogspace.

Once again, Pippa, we have to express our admiration for the life you lead. You are totally, impressively chill. You get to watch much more interesting things than we do.

Also, we want to add our "Happy Anniversary" greetings to your humans!

I missed your Master and Mistress's anniversary. Hope they had a wonderful day! I like the footless birdie and cats and stuff on your post today. My mom forgot her anniversary of meeting my daddy which was yesterday! My daddy's feelings were a bit hurt.

First I must wish a happy belated anniversary - it takes me a while to get around to all the blogs. And then I have to wonder why you aren't out there chasing all of those creatures? They deserve at least a good barking-at! Do you ever see any of those obnoxious monkeys?

Wow. We are very impressed by footless. A three-legged dog likes to play with Ari at the dog park, but he's a little more clumsy than your seagull.

Good work protecting the shoelaces, Pippa. That service would be much needed in our house, where the cats assault all laces daily.

JAZZ AND DIXIE said...

Hi Pippa,
Its amazing how animals adapt and know were their next meal is coming from. Many people feed the feral cats in the parks around here as well as the crows even though there are signs up everywhere not to feed them. Today Jazz and Dixie met two stray cats in a park we went to.
Glad your M&M had a nice anniversary.

Handsome Pippa Dog! Dad finally booted Rockstar off the computer. He's such a hog, but I love him anywho! I could totally stay next to you and watch master's shoe laces with you. I'm a helper, just ask the Rock. I have to admit, as much as I like to chase a bird, that third picture is hysterical - if I could read beaks - I think the bird is saying "Hey hey hey hey hey hey"..."Where's the food?" Too funny. Stay well, Hugs and Kisses, Mati
