MY sofa

Misery has stolen MY sofa. She says that she has just temporarily reclaimed what was once hers anyway.

As far as I am concerned, I have slept on it for the last two years, so therefore it is MINE. I am not interested in what went on 40 years ago, whenever that was.

She decided she was tired of aching on the floor and struggling to sit up and cough, so she grabbed her sleeping bag and jumped on the sofa one night when I was inadvertently lying on the floor.

I have not been able to get back on since.

Oh, in case anyone is confused, they sleep on the floor because they haven't got round to buying a bed.

So I have been alternating between my Under Table Den, lying in the doorway with my head under the sideboard, and lying on my dustsheet in their bedroom.

Sad Pippadog

But then I decided a little tit for tat was called for.

First I rested my head on their 'bed'.

Just trying it out for size......

Who is disturbing my nap?

Oh well, time for a stretch

Then I decided that wasn't good enough. Mistress hasn't just got her head on MY sofa, she has commandeered it all.

Mistress's scruffy sleeping bag on MY sofa

So I did the same. Have that Mistress.

Mmmm, very comfy, I could gradually get all of me on here

Go away Misery - or give me back MY sofa

Now onto my second complaint about Misery.

As I wrote the other day, she kindly submitted a photo of me in my jasmine patch for Pruett and Daphne's April Showers May Flowers comp over at GSD Adventures.

Well, the first day, she was so busy looking at the photos, she forgot to vote. The next day she voted. Did she vote for me????? NO!!!! Why did she not vote for me? Something about it is not British to vote for one's self.

She isn't voting for her. She would be voting for ME. She told Master and I waited for Master to tell her off.

"Of course you can't possibly vote for Pippa. That's like cheating. Most unBritish," said Master, very unhelpfully.

Anyway, as it turns out I am not voteless. So if any of my friends have been over and voted for me, thank you very much. Voting runs until the end of this month, and you can vote for three dogs every day, which is really good because it gives you chance to vote for lots of friends and favourites.

Well, next time she wants YOUR sofa, tell her it will khost her: some VOTES!

Nice slumber poses!

We wouldn't vote for ourselves either unless we had no votes. It would be sad and lonely to have no votes.

You're looking very leggy in your stretch pic - very tall and handsome.

BTW, Momma finally looked and it was the use of the word "dogs" on LandRovers.

Love,
Princess Eva

Stealing your bed and not voting for you?! That's tough. Glad you took her bed. I kindly share mine with Old Girl and Mr. Jason.
Meanwhile, maybe it's a Frenchie thing to vote for yourself because I voted for myself for pressy-dent...I assume Old Girl voted for me, too. But you never know with her. Grr.

Hi Pippa,
Sorry to hear that your mum stole your sofa!! We have had to share ours with mum and dad for some time now and sometimes get pushed off! Mum slept on the floor when she first came to japan but when she moved she just had to get a bed!

Sofa stealing, is a criminal offence and most un-British too.

You need to have sharp barks with her Pippa.

I will go over and vote for you in a momento.

My J thinks Misery should buy a bed, the floor looks very uncomfortable but what does she know?

Poor Pippa, we think you should just jump up on that couch right on top of her, she will move fast. And of course she should vote for you, British or not.

Hershey and I also got chased off our bed (aka the human's big bed) cos mom claims that there is not enough space for 2 humans and 2 dogs... I think they just need to buy a bigger bed to accommodate everyone...
Once they get the new big bed, you can come over and sleep with us anytime!

Pippa Dog,

We firmly believe that every piece of furniture in our house belongs to the creature -- human or canine -- who gets there first.

It's a house rule.

Although there is that confounded little word that we have been trained to obey: "OFF!!!" It's usually spoken just when we have curled up and are really comfy in one of the chairs in the Camelot (our breakfast and all purpose room, so named because it's where Mom has chosen to park all of her herd of camels -- some 180 of them). And then we are conflicted between comfortable and conscience.

Anyway, we were just thinking that if you need help in restoring order, we will be happy to defend your case -- loudly!! very loudly!!!

CAN YOU HEAR US DEFENDING YOUR CASE???

Wirey love,

Jake and Just Harry (The Barkalot Boyz)

Pippa,

My mom says your humans need to get a bed! My mom says her back would be in alot of pain if she had to sleep on the floor! She's going hiking in a few weeks and she even bought one of those self inflating mattresses to take with her so her back doesn't complain! Maybe you and Misery could take turns with the couch?

Pippa, you have to do what I did. I slowly took apart and chewed up our livingroom couch, pillow by pillow, til it was just a frame. Now it's covered with dog pillows and now no one wants to use it except ME!! Just don't tell Misery I told you this.

I'm going over to vote for you and I sure hope you win the contest!

Pippa, excellent work on the bed reclamation project. In our experience, leaving muddy paw prints on the part of the bed you want to claim can also be extremely effective.

PS- good look with the voting.
