My Gotcha Day

Well, it isn't today, or even yesterday, or even the day or two days before that. My Gotcha day was on 14 January.

Anyway, bad mistress has been too busy writing about glow plugs on her Land Rover blog and artichokes on her own blog. I ask you. Why is she writing about artichokes when she could be writing about me?

So no dog has been able to wish me Happy Gotcha Day this year. Now I will have to wait another 361 days. And it was the first year I knew about Gotcha Days too.

Now that surely must be worth sacking mistress for.

It was a grotty day anyway because it rained, so I didn't bother going to wake up master. But he got up anyway. So I Aroorooed to him.

"No, Pippa, we aren't going outside in the rain. We will both get soaked and you won't like that," he said.

So I Aroorooed again.

"Very well, Pippa" and he went out into the patio. "No, Pippa, we can't possibly go out. It is just raining too much."

I sighed. I waited ten minutes and then I had another go.

"Arooo roooo ROOOOOOO."

Appearance of light bulb over master's head.

"Oh, Pippa, do you want your breakfast?"

No, master, what do you think I have been Aroorooing for? A walk in the rain? The cats always hide when it's raining anyway. NO, I want my breakfast.

It's not like master to be so slow off the mark but I was a bit disappointed I must say. Especially as Misery Mistress was lying in bed laughing because she knew exactly why I was Aroorooing. It would have been helpful if you had told master, Misery. Instead of laughing.

Naturally I got no presents from them.

But my friends Jake and Just Harry, The Barkalot Boyz have given me the "thinking blogger award". They said I have opened their eyes to what it means to live on the streets before coming in from the cold to a loving family.

Thank you very much boys. So there mistress, I don't need you to give me your awards because my dogpals give me nice awards in my own right. Anyway I need to think about five other thinking blogs, so I will put my own thinking cap on while I am at the gate and post up next time.

Oh, and back to my Gotcha Day. I don't know how old I am, except that I am more than four. So maybe five, or even six. Who knows? But I've looked after master and mistress for four years now, so I think they have been very lucky.

Pippa, I'm confused. I don't think it's YOUR Gotcha Day, I think it's theirs. I mean, you did get THEM, didn't you? I think your master and mistress missed their own Gotcha Day.

Happy gotcha Day, my darling Pippadog! Snoses back at you for all of the ones you sent my way. I am beginning to feel better, but may have to visit the vet soon anyway. sigh. they should definately give you extra toast to celebrate being gotten. Can we borrow that phrase? We like Gotcha Days. Shiloh's gotcha Day is in November and mine is in February - I'm going to be 8 this year!

Happy Belated Gotcha Day Pippa. The 14th here in Japan was "Coming of Age Day" which is held on the second monday of January every year for 20 year olds who are honored in a ceremony and then have the right to vote.
Anyway we are so glad that such a nice looking dog as yourself was found by a great family and that you now enjoy the finer things in life such as toast!

Happy Gotcha Day although a bit late.. Louie and I love the rain. Mom says we have duck fur and the water just rolls right off. Louie loves to play with the hose when Dad turns it on. He is so silly he drags it around trying to get everyone wet...

Wuufs Pippas,

Congrats on your award and Gotcha Days. You don't look overs 1,2 1,2 two years olds. My Gotcha Day was in Decembers. I adopted my peeps 1,2 1,2 seven years ago. Don't knows if I'm 1,2 1,2 eleven or twelve.

Abouts the fallin' waters. If the waters fall durin' my walkies then I get an extras long toalla massage. (Likes this dark.) That's supers cooools! Hints, hints. Winks, winks.

Abouts your twitter stuffs. I use snitter (http://snook.ca/snitter/) that sits in my dock. It is very easys to get to and makes a noise when a friend barks. And now ∆≈ just founds twhirl (http://www.twhirl.org/) and is tryin' it outs for his tweets. /iquitoz, /kuru and /DeltaGypsy. Mores and mores DWB pups are tweetin'.

Wuufs!

Hello Pippa...

It's me Lucky... Happy Gotcha Day, albeit a bit late... Yes my Mommy seems to have fogotten my Gotcha Day too...

Mine was on 2nd December 2005, when I was just a wee pup, and I've been looking after her for over a year now...

Most dogs don't know what it's like to have to live on the streets. I'm glad I live in a nice house with Mommy now, and am safe from the heat, the rain and the nasty children that used to throw stones at me.

Now Rascal and Mishka live with us too. They're glad to be off the streets too...

So I hope that everydog will say a little prayer for all the poor doggies that are still on the streets: so that some kind soul would take them in, and then they can have a Gotcha Day too...

Hugs
Lucky...

This oversight is, quite frankly, shocking and disturbing. Happy Gotcha day, my pal. I'm quite impressed that you have done such a good job looking after your peoples in spite of their neglect of you(r blog). Well, I think there is only one way to remedy this situation and this is to treat every day as your Gotcha Day! Buttered toast and curry every day!
