Monkeys!!

I have something very exciting to write about.

Monkeys. Yes that's right, monkeys.

I spotted them on the city wall gates a few weeks ago, and stood watching them and sniffing them. They chattered away but I don't understand monkey.

Anyway, off we went for our morning walk. Mistress was distracting herself with ship photos again. Yawn.

Waiting for Misery to come back from shipwatch.

We set off back up the hill and I could smell them. Misery and Master were not walking fast enough.

Come along! We need to get to the monkeys.

Master and I spotted them straight away. It wasn't difficult as they were swinging on the branches in the trees. Eventually even Misery spotted them.

They were little baby monkeys. See this one walking along the branches?

Misery walked up to take closer pictures so they threw figs at her. Actually I don't think they were really throwing figs at her, because they were too busy eating them, but it is a nice thought. But when they move along the branches some of the figs drop and fall down onto the ground.

They wrap their feet around the branches so they can sit there and then pick all the figs within reach. Misery tells me figs are nice.

While Misery was taking a few different pictures, Master and I stood there intently watching the monkeys.

Me and headless master. Concentrating on monkeywatch.

Just me.

Look, can you see the face on this one? He was looking at me I'm sure.

Then I was tired after all that excitement.

Oh and I forgot to say I entered the April Showers May Flowers comp over at GSD Adventures. But I can't make the button come up.

Monkeys???!!! We've never seen one of those - just pigeons. The monkeys look more fun, especially if they can throw figs. Sounds like a great day.

Pippa, I don't mind that you didn't mention me or tucking your paws on this post, because I agree that monkeys are quite exciting. I wonder if we have monkeys in our trees. I sit up on the third floor balcony, which is pretty much a tree house and no monkeys have ever come over to say hello. I wonder if I would chase them or try to pick them up like I do with cats. You have given me a lot to think about.

Hello Pippa,
I have to go to the zoo to look at the monkeys. We don't have monkeys running free here. I think my puggy brother's face looks a lot like monkey's face, hehe!
Oh, you entered the contest? I'm heading there to vote for you, Pippa.
Love ya lot!

Pippadarling,
Those monkeys look very interesting indeed. I would be trying to talk with them if we had any here - I love to talk to others even if I cannot understand them. Those monkeys reminded Mom of a book called Caps for Sale. It has a tree full of monkeys who steal a peddlers caps. Monkeybusiness indeed.

Now how fun would that be to run into some monkeys on our walks! Mom says she used to go to a monkey house at the zoo near her house when she was a little girl. She and her family would feed them oranges and watch them peel them. Then they liked to give them a piece of bubble gum and the silly monkeys figures out how to blow bubbles.

Hello Pippa! did you have the Monkeys, boiled, fried or grilled?

The monkeys sound the bestest fun however you cooked them.

ooooops, sorry, I forgot your Ma and Pa are Veggie.....

Hope I have not offended your family.

I ate a baby rabbit this arvo, in front of everyone sitting out in the sun in the garden, I am not very popular it seems.

Pip,

Long time no bark! I was so happy to hear from you. My mom was so busy last week that we didn't get online at all but I kept barking at her until she came to your blog today. Monkeys? That kinda cool but I don't know how I feel about monkeys. I'm afraid they'd think I was a little toy if they saw me. How close can you get to those monkeys?

You just refreshed my mom of her most favorite trip she ever took to Andalucia, Gib and Tangiers! I think we have mentioned it to you before. Mom loved the Gibralter monkeys!! She took a ton of pictures of them. They were eating onions when she was there.
Funny too but when your music started just now on your blog, both me and Chester came and had to sit near the speakers on my mom's desk! This music is mesmerizing!

Wow, you saw real monkeys?? How exciting. I bet they were tossing those figs at you so they could share their lunch with such a nice dog. You live in a very intersting part of the world, Pippa.
